Texas TERA will provide individuals with disabilities with the opportunity to explore and experiment with adaptive technologies that can assist them with living more independent lives. The facility’s model home environment showcases a variety of AT solutions ranging from low to high tech. AT products paired with Universal Design principals are used to create an accessible living environment. Here are some highlights:

Computer Area
- Accessible computer workstation with adaptive software, alternative access options, augmentative communication devices which promote maximum integration into the world of electronic communication and information.

- Electronic Aids to Daily Living (EADL) systems that provide independent control of electronic devices.

Kitchen
- Adaptive utensils, accessible work surfaces and appliances which provides independence in the kitchen.

- Adaptations and equipment to increase safety and independence.

- Architectural physical access, daily living aids, height and width accommodations, and sensory aid devices to promote barrier free access.
